The playoff picture is becoming clearer and clearer with each passing week. Two teams which have an outside chance of making it are the Raiders(6-7) and Cleveland (7-6). The Las Vegas franchise start dead last in AFC West, same as the Browns in AFC North. Mid level QBs in Mullens(Browns) AND Derek Carr average around 65% completion with 240 yards between them. Only Carr made 200. His quick thinking led to the first TD of the match first quarter on 03:45. It was 3rd and goal basically the last chance and great choice of pass to Edwards but the tackler should have done better getting in front of the ball. This was a very low scoring match which went down to who has the best kicking on the FG stat. Credit to both defenses, singling out number 36 for the Browns MJ Stewart with 8 tackles and 3 assists and Jon Abram with 6/3. More on the kicking later.

Now on to the second Q. No TDs on this one, both sides canceling each other out. Check out this turnover at 7-0 13:38. Edwards just short of the 40 yard line got the “four” STAR TREATMENT leading to the turnover. Now for the kicking, with the quarter winding down at 01:00 7-0, Raiders were 3rd and goal. Carr found a brick wall in the Browns’ Moffat. Well, saving six points in exchange for three is a good payoff, right? Not quite. This ended up being a three point game and the field goal by Carlson(3/3) afterwards proved crucial. His counterpart Chase McLaughlin was zero for one. To Q3. Great work in rushing from Nick Chubb(91 yards) at 10-0 06:05 got the Browns within ten yards of the Las Vegas EZ.

At the 3rd time of asking they got the TD from the Man himself Chubb. Raiders were done with reaching the EZ but they won this match thanks to two more FGs from Carlson. The first one a long range kick 39 yards to be exact. The last one in a moment. But first I got to admire the patience of Mullens for the Browns. 13-7 4th and 5 with 03:50 to go. I would have been tempted to go for the FG there but I get it, he knew his kicker Chase wasn’t that good. So going for broke paid off somewhat. Bid his time found Bryant with aid of some good protection from his tackle guards. A monster pick by Williams from Cleveland caught my ATTENTION. But Carlson had the last say. A humongous 48 yard kick with 3 seconds to go snatched the victory for the Raiders. With the Chiefs running away with NFC West, there is a chance that Las Vegas can make the Playoffs as one of the best runner ups. Cleveland still in with a shout though in a hotly contested NFC North.
