Some insane rushing by Giants quarterback Jones in this one. He finished with figures of 22/32 in throws but that doesn’t begin to tell the story. It would have been one hell of a TD had the officials not chopped off the one 6 minutes from the 3nd of the second q. An offensive foul by number 18 for New York in the play took the TD off the board and that was one of two turning points from my end. The other being McKissic’s TD for Washington as the first half wound up, had the Giants gone into the second half ahead they would have been good odds for the win.
Heinicke was the better quarterback with figures of 34/46 for Washington throwing 336 yards with 2TDs. The kicking was good for both teams with 100 percent record for Gano who was 5 for 5 for the Giants and Hopkins who was 3 for 3 for Washington. Check out Jones’s first TD for New York, taking the initiative on himself to go all the way to the EZ,sign of a leader. Although officials looked silly not confirming the TD right away. Heinicke wasn’t to mess about either. Check out the throw to Terry McClarin for the TD to level the scores at 7-7. He had two defensives in close quarters, very impressive.
