I have said it before and I will say it again, this crop of young USMNT players are the best to come up in 20 years and will have no one but themselves to blame if they fail to make it to Qatar next year. A shaky start here in a tricky fixture away at Honduras. USMNT recovered with a four goal second half blitz to go home with all three. Sub Gregg Berhalter had the Midas touch bringing on Yedlin(Ex Newcastle) and Antoinee Robinson(Fulham) who had a huge impact. USA missing Reyna, McKennie and Steffen , struggled in the first half to get shots on target whilst Honduras were content to sit back and absorb. I normally don’t advocate heading the ball that low but it did the trick for Honduras for their opening goal. Some call it great improv.

Christian Pulisic featured for the US. He has been finding game time hard to get for Chelsea so it was much needed minutes. The game opened up in the second half after the USA equalizer. USMNT had Matt Turner the stand in keeper to thank for keeping the game at 1-1 before Pepi’s majestic header put the away side in the lead. Honduras abandoned their disciplined defending late in the match making the score line flattering to the US. USA are now third in the 8 team standings two points behind top placed Mexico(the traditional soccer powerhouse of the region) and have same record as Canada who are in second only because their name starts with a C.
