This year’s Tour De France should be renamed the Tour De Crash. Stage 3 from Lorient to Pontivy was 182 km the shortest of the Tour so far. Well , the drama started with a crash on 144km to go which included Geraint Thomas and Tony Martin. The roads looked as though they were designed for a go-kart race, way too narrow for a 100 rider plus peloton. Geraint in particular was in dire straits with a dislocated shoulder which was put back in socket. The wonderful thing(excuse the pun there is nothing pleasing about dislocated shoulders) about dislocated shoulders is you can put them straight back in but it should be done by someone who knows what they are doing so as to not damage nerves and tissues.
Team Alpine-Fenix is having a great start to the Tour De France. Tim Merlier got took stage 3 for them after Van Der Poel claimed Stage 2. But not before another crash involving top riders from Ineos and Jumbo Visma, namely Primoz Roglic at the 10 km to go peg. The Slovenian lost over a minute of his race. He from the clip seemed to be avoiding the spectators as he is pushed by the crowded peloton to them. The organizer of this stage really must have been smoking blunts because there was a coup de grace crash with 4km to go involving Jack Haig who had to quit this one. That’s it hey race over Merlier outsprinting the rest to take it. But no. A mini crash involving Caleb and Peter Sagan taking them out of what would have surely been at least one of the podium finishes.
