Everton have won at the home of their bitter rivals for the first time in 22 years thanks to a 2-0 win at Anfield this evening. A well taken goal by Richarlison catching the Reds defense cold after a great through pass añd a contentious penalty decision converted by Gylfi. Much will be said about Liverpool losing their captain Henderson to injury replaced by Phillips thereby adding to the growing number of players in the treatment room. It does not take away the fact that Everton managed the game very well and attacked very cautiously as to not over commit.

Godfrey was a rock in defense keeping out the fabled front three in partnership with Holgate. Liverpool now look very much out of sorts. They are reminding me of Blackburn Rovers in the 95/96 season. Champions the previous season ,they had an underwhelming season the next. Much blame has to like with the coach here, sorry Herr Klopp. He had a transfer window to address the injury issues in defense but he did not utilise it. The chickens are now coming home to roost.
